Elmwood is a nonsectarian cemetery that has been dedicated to serving the families of Central New Jersey with dignity and compassion since 1868. Elmwood Cemetery was designed as a Victorian Garden Cemetery by the prominent, New Brunswick architect, George Parsell. He and Elmwood’s founders had a vision to create a beautiful final resting place for the deceased and a tranquil place of reflection for the visitor. Elmwood’s winding roads and grassy paths are lined with tall, majestic trees and ornamental shrubs, a perfect setting to memorialize loved ones. The family mausoleums and extraordinary monuments grace the older sections of the cemetery exemplifying some of the most beautiful sculpture and architecture in the area.
Today, Elmwood is an active cemetery with over 10,000 graves and cremation graves for purchase. In addition, a few special sites for private mausoleums are also available. Arranging a final resting place is an important decision, one that takes careful consideration.
